Cardiovascular disease is a major global problem. As per the statistics about heart disease, 17.9 million people die each year from CDVs. A recent study found that six to eight hours sleep can reduce or prevent heart disease. During sleep, human bodies secrete hormones that help control stress, energy metabolism, and glucose processing and prevent the body from the risk of coronary artery disease, or a stroke. And poor sleep leads to an increase in cholesterol and cause cardiovascular disease.

The study that was conducted by the Dr. Epameinondas Fountas of the Onassis cardiac survey center has also suggested that a little sleep may be bad for the heart.

Though smoking, overweight, cholesterol, alcohol are the major causes of heart disease. But, a little sleep may leave humans too tired increase stress and blood pressure and makes heart weaker.

Fighting Cardiovascular disease:

According to a novel study, people who sleep six to eight hours may be at decreased risk of cardiovascular diseases compared to those who sleep five to six hours. Researchers have found the solid link between insomnia triggers the tiredness, stress and blood pressure raise your heart rate, developing heart failure or making it worse.

Emily McGrath, senior cardiac nurse at British Heart Foundation said; Heart attacks and strokes may generally occur in the early morning hours, which may due to lack of sleep. A lack of sleep is associated with cholesterol, sugar and blood pressure, which are the major causes of a heart attack. If you want to prevent your body from cardiovascular diseases don’t forget to take adequate sleep on a regular basis.

The recent study that published in the journal of the American college of cardiology, suggested a good quality of sleep can overcome the negative effects of the shorter length of sleep.

Eat right.

Exercise.

Sleep six to eight hours.

Don’t smoke and drink alcohol.

Sleep in a comfortable bed.

Maintain blood pressure and sugar level.
